I'll post a 4-letter word that one of you has to turn into a different word by changing only one letter.

me:dove
next person: dive
next person: dime
next person: dice
next person:rice
and so on and so forth

or we can do it this way: 5-letter words, we change one letter, but  also change the position of the letters, it's a tad more challenging. If you think the others might not know the word you're going to type, you might provide the definition as well, including an example sentence.
Let me give you an example:

tripe
1. The rubbery lining of the stomach of cattle or other ruminants, used as food.
2. Informal Something of no value; rubbish.

Now two examples;

-change the  position of the letters
ripen
To make or become ripe or riper; mature.

-changing one letter but without changing the position of the letters
trite
Not evoking interest because of overuse or repetition; hackneyed.

And to make things more interesting and more productive so to say,  you can also tell us  what those words are in your own language, somewhere in brackets

wasn't the changed letter supposed to be on another position in the word? ;)

like    ("mögen" in German)

exmple:  I like you. = Ich mag dich.

there are other meanings too:
              I am like you.  =   Ich bin wie du.
              likely               =   wahrscheinlich

lol Wolf, thanks for the explantion and the word in German.. I never know how to transform these things :(

and WOW Amy, thanks for the entire German lesson.. Ich  starting to mag dich :D (worry not, Wolf, no competition there ;) )

Amy, changing the letter order is NOT a must, and you guys can choose if you want to  do it with the 4 or 5-letter word
